ESTA Holding will help in arranging Andriyivsky Uzviz into pedestrian area

ESTA Holding provided financing for the bollards project in Andriyivsky Uzviz. The project objective is to arrange Andriyivsky Uzviz into pedestrian area. The project is the third stage of the improvement programme for Andriyivsky Uzviz pedestrian and tourist infrastructure. The Company launched this programme in 2012. A new traffic scheme prohibits transit drive through Andriyivsky Uzviz and restricts parking spaces.

“In 2012 we promised to take several steps for Andriyivsky Uzviz to become more comfortable for pedestrians and tourists. As the first stage there were renovated stairs to Zamkova Hora. Then a tourist navigation project was developed by well-known Kyiv designer Igor Sklyarevsky. The third stage will be bollard installation to restrict transit drive and parking spaces in the street,” says Maksim Gromadsov, CEO of ESTA Holding. “It was very important for us the project to be approved by Kyiv residents, in particular by those people whose live is closely associated with Andriyivsky Uzviz. That’s why our key condition was to hold a wide-scale discussion of the project by all interested parties.”

During several months the project was being discussed by passionate volunteers in social networks, “Public Network of Andriyivsky Uzviz” on Facebook. Then there took place two stages of public hearings participated by residents and entrepreneurs ofAndriyivsky Uzviz. According to the results of the hearings, the project and the bollards control system got approval.

The automatic bollards will be installed in the upper and lower parts of Andriyivsky Uzviz, as well as at the access way from Vozdvyzhenska Street. The bollards will be remotely controlled by efforts of Podolska state district administration. All residents ofAndriyivsky Uzviz and entrepreneurs of the area will be given electronic keys at the expense of ESTA Holding.

The bollards will be installed before May 24. The installation and adjustment works for bollards dispatching will be completed till the end of July. The total cost of the project is UAH 1.9 million.
